Will VidBook hallucinate facts from the video?+
No. Every chapter is grounded in the transcript chunks it was assigned, and a refine pass strips claims that don't appear in the source. The multi-agent pipeline (outline architect, chapter writer, style refiner) is constrained at each stage to the relevant transcript window, which keeps the manuscript faithful to what was actually said in the video.
How long does a book take to generate?+
A 7-chapter book typically finishes in 6 to 10 minutes. Longer videos take more because the outline, writer and refiner pass run sequentially per chapter. You can leave the tab open and watch the live progress timeline, or close the tab — the job continues server-side via Trigger.dev and the dashboard picks up where it left off.
Can I edit the manuscript after generation?+
Yes. Every chapter is fully editable in the in-app editor. The inline rewriter uses Gemini Flash Lite to polish selections in a couple of seconds, so you can tighten phrasing, simplify a paragraph, or shift register on any passage. The page-flipping preview updates live so you see the final book layout as you edit.
What about copyright when converting a YouTube video to a book?+
VidBook is a tool. You are responsible for the source material you feed it and the book you publish. Most creators use their own videos, which is the safest path. If you use someone else's content, get permission or rely on fair-use principles you have actually verified with a lawyer.
Do credits roll over month to month?+
No. Your monthly credit balance resets each renewal and unused credits do not carry over. Free-plan credits are one-time on signup. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time from the Billing page; new balances apply from the next billing cycle.
Which export formats are supported for KDP and other stores?+
Every project exports as KDP-ready PDF (6×9 trim with mirrored margins, gutter spacing and print-safe layout), EPUB 3.0 for Apple Books / Google Play Books / Kobo, and DOCX for editors who want to make manual adjustments. Each format becomes downloadable as it finishes rendering.
What is the difference between VidBook and ChatGPT or Claude for writing a book?+
ChatGPT and Claude are general-purpose chat tools.
