Pricing questions, answered

• How many credits does a typical book cost?+

  A typical 7-chapter book costs 7 credits. Each credit pays for the generation of one chapter end-to-end (outline, writing, refinement, humanizer pass). Free plan = 10 credits one-time, Starter = 60/mo, Creator = 180/mo, Pro = 440/mo.

• Do unused credits roll over to the next month?+

  No. Monthly credit balances reset on each renewal. Free-plan credits are one-time on signup. You can upgrade or downgrade any time from the Billing page; new balances apply from the next billing cycle.

• What happens if a generation fails mid-book?+

  Credits are only deducted when a chapter completes successfully. Stuck or failed jobs are swept every 15 minutes and the credit is refunded automatically. You will never lose a credit to a transient error.

• Can I cancel any time?+

  Yes. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. You keep your current credit balance until then. After cancellation you remain on the free tier with no further charges.

• Is there a free trial without a credit card?+

  Yes. The free plan includes 10 chapter credits on signup — enough for one full ~7-chapter book — and never asks for a credit card. Sign up, generate a book, decide whether to upgrade.

• Do you offer student or non-profit discounts?+

  Email support@vidbook.co with verification (school email or 501(c)(3) status). We approve most requests with a 50% discount on the Starter plan.
