Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of VidBook ("VidBook", "we", "us"), an AI publishing studio that turns long-form videos into books and digital products. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. By using the Service you represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms in your jurisdiction.

2. Your account

You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at security@vidbook.ai if you suspect unauthorized access.

3. Content ownership

You retain all ownership of the source material you submit and the books we generate from it. By using the Service you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to process the source material strictly to provide the Service. We do not claim authorship and do not use your content to train any AI model.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Process video content you do not have the legal right to use. You are responsible for the copyright status of every URL you paste. If the video is not yours, you must hold a licence, fair-use justification or other legal basis for converting it into a derivative book.
• Generate books that infringe third-party copyright, trademark or publicity rights, or that promote illegal activity, hate speech, fraud, malware, sexually explicit material involving minors, or doxxing.
• Attempt to extract our prompts, reverse engineer our pipeline or interfere with the operation of the Service.
• Resell or sublicense access to the Service.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules. Egregious abuse may be reported to law enforcement.

5. Subscriptions and credits

The Service is sold on a credit-based subscription. Each chapter generation consumes one credit; per-plan monthly credit grants are listed on the Billing page. Unused credits do not roll over to the next billing period and have no cash value. You can cancel at any time from the Billing page or via Stripe's customer portal; your subscription remains active until the end of the paid period.

6. Refunds

We offer a no-questions-asked refund within 7 days of your first paid subscription renewal, provided you have generated fewer than 10 chapters in that period. Email billing@vidbook.ai to request a refund. Outside that window subscriptions are non-refundable except where required by local consumer-protection law.

7. Service availability

The Service is provided "as available" with reasonable commercial effort to maintain uptime. We do not guarantee that AI generation will produce specific results; outputs are probabilistic and depend on source quality. We may modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice.

8. KDP and third-party publishing

VidBook is a tool. You are solely responsible for ensuring the books you publish on Amazon KDP, Google Books, Gumroad or anywhere else comply with the respective platform's content guidelines, including but not limited to KDP's AI-generated-content disclosure requirements. You must accurately disclose AI use when required.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless VidBook from any claim, damages or expenses arising from (a) content you submit or publish using the Service, (b) your violation of these Terms, or (c) your violation of any third-party right.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts of New Castle County, Delaware.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms; material changes will be announced at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
